‘We are truly humbled’
An emotional Ant & Dec win the National Television Award for TV Presenter for the 23rd year running!
“It’s really hard to put into words just how this feels year after year… how much it means to us you take the time to vote for us and make us your winners,” Dec told the crowds as he and Ant collected their award last night.
It was their second visit to the stage that evening, following their Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award win alongside the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! team.
“Honestly it’s a joy,” Ant added. “We know we’re going to not win it one year, but it’s not tonight! Thank you to everybody who works with us on our shows… Saturday Night Takeaway, Limitless Win, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent. We love you, and we wouldn’t be here without you guys...”
And while there had been an almighty downpour as guests headed to the O2 for the spectacular celebration of the nation’s TV shows and stars, the night was, in fact, a gloriously ‘balmy’ one for our hosts with the most!
Armed with the “lucky lip balm” that Dec’s daughter Isla had given him as she headed out to school that morning, the boys left the ceremony and posted a message of thanks on Instagram to everyone at home who made their win possible:
“It’s hard to find the words to express how grateful we are to everyone that took the time to vote for us again this year. We are truly humbled. ‘Thank you’ doesn’t seem to be enough, but it says it all.
“Isla is gonna be thrilled she owns, what is officially, a lucky lip balm…!”
