Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway heads across the pond!
ITV Studios America is to make a US version of Ant & Dec’s multi-award winning Saturday Night Takeaway, hosted by Emmy-award winning actor, performer and presenter Neil Patrick Harris.
Following on from the hugely successful UK Takeaway Tour, American television network NBC Universal has ordered in the boys’ hit show.
"As co-creators of the show, we're hugely excited and very proud that Saturday Night Takeaway is heading to the USA,” said Ant & Dec. “There is no-one better equipped to host it there than Neil Patrick Harris and we're looking forward to working with the team to help make Takeaway a favourite with families across America”.
Talking about his new role, Harris said: “Nothing like this has been done before, and it’s unique structure fits right into my random skill set. I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and have some fun!”
Saturday Night Takeaway has been a huge success for Ant and Dec, who are executive producers as well as hosts of the show. Since its inception in 2002 it has won a number of awards, including two prestigious BAFTAS in 2014 alone.
